St Y Nyll Top Pond

Brief description of fishery:

St Y Nyll Top Pond is a natural water located near Peterston Super Ely. There are two ponds, the bottom pond which is the first pond you see on accessing the site and is strictly NO Fishing. The Top pond is up the steps at the top of the track running along side the bottom pond.

This Pond has no carp but in summer months is a Tench anglers paradise (If you can get them).

Access & Parking

Parking is limited and whenever at the pond, please park with consideration for others and farm vehicles. Access is not permitted before 7am and members must be off the water by sunset. All Club still Waters require a key to enter the gates. the Keys are only available to members.

Do not enter waterbody. Fish only from a platform.

Deep water at the dam end of the pond and there may be water and soft sediment either side of the walkways.

Ensure mobile phone is charged and keep in your fishing bag or waterproof pouch.

Do not enter the site before 07:00 hrs. Turn off car media system when driving along the track between the lake and highway. Try and minimise noise when opening and closing the gates along the track

There is no dip tank at St-y-Nyll. so ensure your nets and mats are rinsed in tap water when you return home removing all debris and dry in the open air

Falling tree limbs, particularly Ash suffering from Ash dieback resulting in injury or damage to vehicles.

St y Nyll lake is heavily wooded and there are numerous Ash trees suffering from dieback. Check the weather forecast before leaving home to fish.

If you do fish, park away from Ash trees and choose a platform that is not under an Ash canopy.
