Barry Ponds (Sues and Carols)

Brief description of fishery:
Cadoxton Ponds, Barry
Work on developing the two Lakes was completed around 2000. Both lakes now hold a good stock of a variety of Coarse fish. Please only fish off the pegs. No under 16’s allowed on the waters unacompanied.

Carol’s Pond Bream, Tench, Crucian Carp, Barbel, Roach, Rudd, Chub, Perch, Common and mirror carp. Access to Carols Pond is from the Dow visitors car park. Please park in a marked parking bay in the vicinity of the pond access gate near the Eco centre. when leaving your car in the car park, please leave a note in the windscreen with “Fishing Carols Pond” and  your name and mobile number for security purposes. You must be out of the car park and off site by 7pm each evening as Dow lock the access gates.

Sue’s Lake Common and mirror carp, Bream, Tench, Roach, Rudd, Perch, Pike and Eels.  Parking for Sues pond is through the access gate, 5 metres before the turn into Dow off Wimborne Road.

N.B. Night Group Members must park in Sues car park if fishing overnight on Carols pond.

The Ponds are accessed from Wimborne Road. The gate for Sues pond car park is immediately before the left hand turn to Dow on Wimborne Rd. For Carols, it’s the Dow Corning Contractors Car Park, after turning left down the road to Dow from Wimborne Rd at the end of that road immediately before the Security Gate turn left into the car park. A  Club key required for both gates. All Club still Waters require a key to enter the gates. the Keys are only available to members.

Access & Parking

Please ensure when using Dow Corning Car Park that you leave a not in your windscreen stating you are fishing on the ponds and please add a contact mobile number.

Access and Rules for Cadoxton Ponds.
Access to the site and fishing.
1) Only members of Glamorgan Anglers will be allowed access to, or to fish the
lakes.
2) Junior members (under 16) must be accompanied by an adult club member at all times. Only one child per senior member and both must fish together.
3) Any members without a club permit and NRW rod license licence will be
asked to leave the ponds.
4) Access to the Ponds is via the gate that is on Wimborne road just before the turning to Dow the old access gate in Dow Corning Contractors Car Park
5) The Dow Corning Contractors Car Park hours is open 7.00am to 7pm, you must leave the Dow Corning car park by 7pm, the Club will not be held responsible for vehicles locked in the Car Park after 7.00pm.
6 Night Fishing on the ponds is for the use of Glamorgan Anglers Club Night Group
Members only.
7) General Fishing on the Ponds is one hour before Sunrise to one hour after Sunset.
8) The Gates must be locked behind any member accessing the site and must not be
opened for anyone other than Club members.
