The Club would like to thank all members who took part in this years 48 Hour Charity Event. We managed to book it on a hot weekend, which for those pegged on the car park bank and the dam at Treoes meant it was unbearably hot in the sun.
However, there were some great catches and thanks to everyone’s help, every fish was catch and release and we had no fatalities the whole weekend.
A few thank you’s before I give you the results, firstly our head Bailiff, Brian, who prepped the pond for us and did a great job on upgrading the kitchen in the Bailiff hut. Richard Turner, our Chairman who is my right arm organising these events, Rob and Matt Clarke for doing the BBQ for us, plus everyone who clubbed in to do some cooking and washing up during the weekend, it is very much appreciated.
Also a special thanks to Sarah Hunt, who every year makes us a superb cake for the raffle. (Yet again won by Wayne….)
So, the senior winner with 691lb was Jason Woodman
Junior winner was Jenson Powell who also took Biggest Fish and Specimen Fish with a 20lb Grass Carp.
This years BBQ theme was 007 and as usual many of our members dressed up and had a bit of fun, even though is was 32 degrees.
The Total raised was £4000 which £3,500 went to the Stroke Unit at Llandough Hospital and £500 to a young lad who needs private health care.So thanks to everyone who supported us.
